Meet Heather!

Even as a young girl, Heather Abrahamsen Mordecai could be found constantly rearranging her bedroom, and sometimes, even her parents furniture. She soon found herself rearranging props and furniture on stage for an audience as a part of her college education. She has a BFA in set and costume design, from the University of Evansville. After a career in theater and fashion in both Los Angeles and New York, Heather moved to Denver and rearranged her life to start a family. Soon enough, she was back at it, helping friends design and arrange their spaces too.

After an intensive home staging course at the New York Institute of Art and Design (NYAD), she began her home staging career working as an intern, and joined Jody Donley of Designed to Sell as a lead stager. Heather eventually took over and is now the owner of Designed to Sell, as well as Sage + Spruce, a sister company that specializes in home refreshes for life transitions.

When it comes time to sell your home, you want to attract a buyer who loves it as much as you have for all the years you lived there. But when potential buyers come to view your home, you want them to see themselves living there—to feel at home and not as if they’re in someone else’s house.

You need to give your space a new, fresh feel that allows anyone to walk in and see the potential of the property. This is where Designed to Sell enters the selling process to help.

Home staging is not about making a property look pretty (although we do love that as a great fringe benefit!). It’s a definitive marketing tool for real estate professionals to help grab a home buyer’s attention, and Designed to Sell has a few ways to help our clients do just that. We look forward to hearing from you, and helping you with your home staging needs!
